Where will the civil wedding take place?
We have a choice of three superb rooms with civil wedding licences. The Conservatory is ideal for a small intimate wedding comfortably seating up to 50 people. The Martindale Suite overlooking the cascading waterfall can seat up to 80 guests, and the Bretherdale Suite is suitable for a large wedding of up to 150 guests.
How much does it cost to hold a civil wedding service at the Westmorland Hotel?
£275 for hire of the room. Plus the registrar charges which you will need to arrange by calling our local registrars office.

Can you recommend any local wedding suppliers?
Our wedding planner will be more than happy to assist you with any aspect of your wedding planning.

Does the hotel arrange the Registrar and Order of Service?
It is up to you to liaise directly with the local Registrar- it is strongly advised to check availability of the Registrar before confirming a date with us.
How many guests can we have for our wedding reception?
We can accommodate up to 130 for a sit down wedding breakfast, and up to 200 for the evening reception.
Does the Westmorland Hotel provide good photo opportunities?
Absolutely, the cascading waterfall and the stunning fell views make exceptional back drops for your wedding photos.
Can we taste a selection from the menu before we choose?
Tasting sessions are available. Please ask our wedding coordinator for more details.
Will the hotel supply table decorations?
We can provide bud vases and fresh flowers, place cards and menus. If you would like provide favours or table confetti etc, we will be happy to dress the table for you.
Do you provide flowers?
We suggest couples arrange their own floral displays - we can recommend excellent local florists.
How much deposit is required to hold a date?
When the registrar is booked we would ask you to confirm your booking in writing with a non-refundable deposit of £500.
